Default coefficient of determination

In the EXCEL curve fit function for a single dependant variable should the
coefficient of determination be upper case R-squared or lower case r-squared?

Per Excel, RSQ will proved r^2. You can review using Excel help for RSQ.

Jene -

Excel output (Trendline and Regression tool) uses upper case R for curve
fitting with either a single X variable or multiple X variables.

Many statistics authors use lower case r for the single-X-variable
situation.

Excel's Help uses lower case r in descriptions of the RSQ and PEARSON
functions. The description of the CORREL function doesn't mention either r
or R. (PEARSON and CORREL are numerically identical.)
