Default Editing in Excel 2007 slow

Working in an 8000 line workbook with three sheets (no links yet) after a
copy and paste the editting of cells has slowed to 30 secs a cell. Task
manager says Excel not responding then poof it wakes up. Cannot undo the
paste command, too much editing has taken place since that time. Any
suggestions?

Additional info: Slow to edit is only on one sheet in workbook, other files
okay as well. I'm sure I have done something to cause this, just not sure
what. Again, any help appreciated.

That's as fast as your computer is going to run that application once
you put that much stuff in memory. You have to upgrade your computer,
by either putting more ram, or upgrading to a faster system and
perhaps a 64bit operating system. Assuming you are not going to do
this very often, just go make a cup of coffee, walk the dog, stretch,
take out the trash, etc.
