Default Default date format for a new worksheet

When I type a date "03/25" Excel formats it "25-Mar". This is a custom format
not even in the Date category. if I type "03/25/09" it formats it just like I
typed it. Where does Excel get the Custom format for a new worksheet and how
can I change it.

In EXCEL 2007 (and I believe in previous versions) you will have to take the
following actions to change the date format in a cell(s):-

- highlight the cell(s) that you wish to format

- right click and select Format Cells

- Number tab

- Date on the left hand side / select the format you want and hit OK.

If my comments have helped please hit Yes.

Thanks.
