Default Autofill

Hi I am using autofill and have some values with text. Example: G11774,
G11775 and G11776. This is just in general format and has now stopped
working when I try to fill it down using the AutoFill handle I am getting
G11777 over and over again - I need it to increment to G11778, G11779 etc.

Can anyone help. I am using 2000 (sorry but the company won't change)!!

Thanks

Before you Autofill, make sure you select 2 sequential cells so XL can see
what pattern you are looking for.

In your scenario, you would need to select both G11776 and G11777

Annie,

1 way. Instead of using the text G11774 use the formula

="G"&ROW(A11774)

as you drag down the number will increment.

Luke

I prefer to enter just G11776 then right-click and drag.

Release button and "Fill Series"

Saves typing<g
