How do I get a pivot table to sum instead of giving me a count?
In my newest version of Excel I can't use a pivot table to sum totals of a
group but, in the old version I can. Does anyone know of how to turn this feature back on? My pivot tables give me a count total of the items in the group I don't need this I need the sum of these items. |

I am not sure which version you are on but 2002 defaults to count. If you open the pivot table wizard and go to the layout box you should see "count of ####" in the data field. Double click on this and you will get the field dialog box which has the usual average, max min etc HTH -- Alex Delamain ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alex Delamain's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=11273 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=275628 |
