Sum a range across multiple sheets
I have a workbook with multiple sheets.
The sheets are named "First", 1, 2, 3......., "Last" in that order. On a summary sheet outside of that range I use the formula =SUM(First!A1:Last!A1) and it gives a #VALUE error. Why? |

Thanks Frank, it works great. I knew it could be done, just couldn't get
the syntax. Carlos "Frank Kabel" wrote in message ... Hi =SUM('First:Last'!A1) -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany "CarlosAntenna" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... The easiest way is to let Excel build the syntax for you. In your summary sheet
simply type =SUM( then click on A1 on sheet First, hold down SHIFT and then click on the tab for sheet last, put in the last bracket ) and hit enter. -- Regards Ken....................... I did that but didn't hold the shift key. I selected the first cell then
typed a colon and selected the last cell. Obviously that yielded the wrong results. Thanks for the tip. Carlos "Ken Wright" wrote in message ...
