Default Looses formula in copying from on Excel to another Excel

When I copy from an Excel spreadsheet on a server accessed though
Remote Desktop to Excel on my local desktop it changes formulas to
values. How do I avoid this?

The same happens when I open Excel twice on my desktop and copy from
one to the other.
