First, why in Excel 97 does it show links and the same spreadsheet does not
show any links (when there are) in Excel 2002? These are strange links that I
believe some people are using when copying over another workbook and just
renaming them to a new name. What is happening is when this workbook,
sections are being linked, paste special into Word documents, they are having
problems with their computers getting very slow, cannot save to network drive
and even being disconnected from Word and the network. What I have found in
some of these files they are working with when I go into Insert, Name,
Define, I am finding many names referring to #Ref!, invalid directories on
our network drive, some to even A: drives. I am not sure if Excel is reading
all of these as "Links" and if that is the reason for the problems, but a
couple of Excel of mine (Cannot be shared) has only print references in the
names, define and I feel this is causing their computer problems, and thus,
they are probably replicating this over and over again. Also, as stated why
would it not show links on my computer, but does on 97 and our options are
selected the same?

Anyone that can help guide me in a helpful direction, would be so
appreciated as they feel it is our network and I cannot find a thing wrong
there.
