Default Active X Control

Hi All
(Im a newbie to Excel...)
I am trying to add a button to my Excel worksheet and link it to a
macro which performs a task. I thought of using an active x control button
But when I try to click the button and drag it in the worksheet
I get the error message "Cannot Insert Object"
Can any one suggest me what is wrong here
Thanks
Anand
