Shared workbooks can be sorted.

Most likely your worksheet is protected. Click on Tools|Protection and then

Is the worksheet protected? You normally can't sort protected

Tools - Protection - Protect Sheet is also grayed out.

Do you have more than one sheet selected? Do you see [Group] in the title bar? If so, right-click on a tab and "ungroup" or just select any sheet tab. That was it! Thanks. I ungrouped and all my commands are now active.
