Default graphing a mathemtical equation

Hi
can any one tell me that how should i plot a graph of a mathematical
equation. what i mean i just write the eqaution and the graph is genrated.
like in any mathematical software?
I want to graph a equation w/o calculating its data points.

Qaral,

Two more examples might help. The first is based on Stephen Bullen's
defined names example the Tushar mentioned - it's stripped down a bit:

The second plots each individual data point as opposed to using defined names:

A more simple approach:
In A1 type x, in B1 type y
In A2 down to A10 type 1,2,3,4,...
In B2 type =2*A2^2-4*A2+6 (we are plotting y=2x^2-4x+6)
Copy formula down to B10
Select A1:B10, click Chart Wizard on toolbar and select XY chart
Experiment to get what suits you best
