Default edit x-values in XY Scatter?

If I want to change x-values in a multi-series X-Y scatter

I have to edit x-values seperately for each series

e.g i have 7 series - i have to edit all 7 x-values (even though the new
x-values are the same for all series)

i must've missed something - isn't there a way to set the same x-values for
all series at once

no-coding solutions - thanx

Hi,

Sounds like you need to edit the x values data ranges for your series so
they all use the same set of x values.
Use the source data dialog to update your data references.
Or is the chart is on a worksheet select the data series and then drag
the coloured highlighting box over to the shared x-values range.

Cheers
Andy

Hi

I'm using the 'source data' dialogue - but there doesn't seem to anyway to
edit the x values for all series at one time - each series seems to have
it's own x-values (although i want the same x-value for all series) - i have
to select each series in turn and do it series-by-series (7 series - 7 edits
of the same x-values)

i've tried dragging new x values onto the x-axis of the chart - but it just
adds it as yet another series in the chart (not on the x-axis)

You will have to change each series individually.

cracked it - if anyone else needs this work around

change chart type to std 'column chart'
edit as "x-labels"
change chart type back to 'X-Y scatter'
presto :o)

i cant beleive it worked (used x-labels as x-values) but it did - because a
column chart can only have one range x labels i could edit it one shot -
changing the bar back to X-Y chart, it used the x-label as x-values for all
the series
